HELLOOOO 2017

Hey guys, I know I have been pretty M.I.A the last few weeks (well more like a month) but you know when everything in your life gets to hectic and you feel like you barely have time to sleep; well that was me in the month of December. Although it was a very busy holiday season I did get to do quite a bit of traveling so as my first post of 2017 I though I would share with you guys where I have been “hiding” out. I hope everyone had a great New Years and are ready for 2017 OTWK style.

This was my second time in Atlantis and honestly there was still so much that was new to me. Have any of you guys been there? the Place is HUGE and takes forever to walk just across from one end to the other but nonetheless my family and I had a blast here (especially in the casino)

Our second stop in Freeport was absolutely breathtaking. I don’t think I have seen sand so white and water so blue.

Toto we’re not in Kansas anymore, actually we are. A couple of weeks ago I got to travel with my mom to a conference in Kansas City and as fun as it was I’m kind of upset there were no ruby red slippers waiting for me.

Regardless, it was still a great time.

One thing I must say they were completely accurate about in the movie was that boy is this state flat. But despite that, something about seeing all that unused land was very refreshing than the busy streets and hustle and bustle that comes with life in Atlanta.

While we were down there we stayed in this awesome beautiful blue house which looked like it belonged on some street in San Francisco.

Our adventure began with an 7 a.m. wake up call and early morning coffee run before our conference.

One thing I admire the most about my parents is that regardless of their crazy busy schedule they always set aside time to speak at conferences all around the U.S. and how humble they are each time they are invited.

Day 1 included a Q & A session with the ladies. My mom spoke on the roles of a woman and the kind of women God designed and intended us to be. It was great to see the woman interact with my mom and really take to heart the things my mom spoke on. She even gave me the opportunity to answer questions direct towards the younger women that attended. After our Q & A we later than had workshops and open dialogues with one another which was really empowering; I really enjoying learning from other people, especially those who are older than I am.

Day 2 consisted of 2 sermons and post service questions and duties. The congregation was nothing but inviting, welcoming and I feel so at home. Of course along with any busy weekend of workshops, Q & A’s, and sermons there was nothing left to do but play.

After church I got to go to the cutest spot for lunch and for dessert, GELATO!! Paciugo is a family owned and visioned business in which started in 2000 in Dallas Texas by the Gianatta family. Hands down probably the best Gelato spots I’ve been to. Sooo good that I got cookies and cream gelato AND a mango smoothie. No shame in my game.

And of course what is a trip in a different state if you can’t check out their shopping! So knowing me, I did some serious damage at the Oak Park Mall. Oak Park had such an awesome shopping environment. I mean they even had a carousel in the middle of the food court!! And yes… we did ride it.

These two cuties made SURE I had the best time while I was in Kansas and I owe a lot of my fun, surprisingly, to these little nuggets.

All in all, I had a great mini getaway and really enjoyed all the people I got to meet and interact with. Definitely glad I got to add this place on my list of places I’ve gotten the chance to go to.
