News Media Alliance Now Accepting Applicants for Fourth Annual Accelerator Pitch Program
Winners will pitch news media, advertising executives at annual mediaXchange conference
November 15, 2016
Arlington, VA – The News Media Alliance is now accepting applications for its fourth annual Accelerator Pitch program at mediaXchange 2017, which will take place April 30 – May 3, 2017, at the Marriott New Orleans, Louisiana. The Accelerator Pitch program provides the opportunity for media startups to pitch their businesses to the largest annual gathering of news media industry executives and their colleagues in North America.
The Accelerator Pitch program is open to startup companies that have been founded within the last three years whose product or service helps meet newspaper and online news media companies’ print, digital or advertising needs.
“The Accelerator Pitch program has become a key way our members hear about the newest and most innovative solutions out there for news media companies,” said Michael MaLoon, News Media Alliance VP of Innovation. “These startups are developing imaginative solutions that are helping news media companies define their futures.”
The Alliance will select the most relevant qualified startup companies from the submissions it receives to pitch their product or service to key media, newspapers and advertising executives in interactive presentations during mediaXchange 2017.
“Since our debut at the conference in DC we have really grown our platform, team and footprint. Our work with newspapers and media companies is being recognized nationally,” said Brock Berry, CEO for AdCellerant, a 2016 Accelerator Pitch winner. “It’s been a great year and the News Media Alliance Accelerator Pitch was a great contributor.”
The Alliance is accepting entries for the program beginning today through 5:00 pm EST on Friday, December 30, 2016. Entries will be judged on usefulness to news media companies, innovation and creativity. To enter, qualified companies should fill out the online entry form on or before the December 30, 2016 deadline. The winners will be notified by Friday, February 10, 2017.
