Life tends to get too much in the way at times. Nowadays it seems it takes more and more of an effort to find even a slither of time to get away. Honestly, this why local trips have quickly become a favorite of mine. If you’re from the Atlanta area, you already know there are only so many cities that are considered “drivable” (aka less than 5 hours each way) for a get away. One of my favorite cities to visit is Chattanooga. With it being roughly 2 hours to get there, the city is a perfect end of the week/weekend retreat for those looking for some r&r.
We were lucky enough to team up Mitsubishi to make this trip an all around, perfect mid-week getaway.
Airbnb’s are definitely the way to go when looking for a place to stay. Don’t get me wrong, I do love the security and consistency of going to hotels but there just seems to be so many stinking cute Airbnb’s popping up in every city-and let’s be honest, they are usually A LOT cheaper. Location is EVERYTHING when you are going out of town, especially if you aren’t bringing a car with you. Always try staying somewhere that is closest to the downtown area so you have prime access to all the tourist stores, restaurants, bars and shopping (DUH).
Our cute humble abode was located a whopping 5 minutes from the downtown area making it extremely easy for us to drive but also call ourselves and uber once we went out. If you would like to check out the Airbnb we used, I’ve provided the link below!

Contrary to popular belief, I enjoying eating A LOT of food. One of the first things I look forward to in a new city is tasting and trying all kinds of foods. Luckily for me, Chattanooga has everything from Thai to Mexican to some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had. Here’s a list of a few of our favorite places we were able to try while we were up there, as well as some of the top rated places we plan to go back and try.
Milk & Honey
Mean Mug Coffeehouse
State of Confusion
Beast & Barrel
Hair of the Dog
If it’s your first time then you definitely have to experience Rock City, Ruby Falls, hike the trails and hang with the fishes at the Tennessee Aquarium your first go around. One of my favorite things to do is walk across the Walnut bridge, visit the Pink Wall and if you are feeling up to it… go to a concert at the Signal. We were able to go see one of our favorite bands, Rainbow Kitten Surprise at the venue while we were there and it was hands down one of the best moments of my life.
Thanks to Mitsubishi, we were sporting around in the sleekest, mid size SUV all through town- and a few stops along the way. If you are looking to upgrade soon, this car is fully equipped with all the state of the art, gizmos and gadgets that even I could manage, so you definitely could. Features like CarPlay, backup camera and lane control, made our ride so comfortable, convenient and safe. I always love working with Mitsubishi because I know I am always getting the best ride there is to offer.
