I first want to start by saying, I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving filled with family, joy, and lots of food. This Thanksgiving was different than other ones we’ve had before. If you have been following me long enough you have come to know how much i love to travel. Well lets just say the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree. Although it was for work, my father and uncle were not able to join us for Thanksgiving this year due to their international travel they had to do for work. There have been holidays spent without them before and we have become sort of accustomed to their crazy traveling schedules but this year we were missing one more; apparently my brother was bit by the traveling bug and also decided to travel to L.A. to see and spend Thanksgiving with friends. To many that may seem strange but to us its not; although we are a very close knit family we tend to view friends as family too and any chance we get to see friends, near or far, we take it.
Nonetheless its been so much fun having out with just my mom all week (and milo of course) getting to do girlie things without the boys around to nag us, ha just kidding. As our girls week comes to an end today I can’t help but to appreciate and be thankful for the time I have been able to spend with my mom. We barely get the time to anymore with my finishing up my undergrad degree in Biochemistry and her enrolling into the top Nursing Program in the southeast region, its safe to say our schedules are nothing but compromising. Although I did miss my brother and father it was nice to reconnect with my #1 lady.
So despite missing a few members, we decided to take a drive up to my aunts house in Lilburn and spend the whole day there with her and my cousins (who’s dad is also traveling) and I can honestly say, it was one of the best Thanksgivings i’ve had. Sometimes just sitting, talking, and laughing with your family is the best R&R you can get during this crazy season.
And for that I am forever grateful.
Of course you know I can’t leave you guys without giving you outfit details. Although it was very strange to have warmer weather on Thanksgiving day it was great reason to pull out this gorgeous off the shoulder top I received from Asher by Fabrik two weeks ago at my shopping event. This hands down is the best off the shoulder I have ever owned-from the rich fall colors to the fullness of the sleeve, it was the ultimate holiday top so fitting for the day. I paired it with my sateen legging pants -which I have had on repeat this season and also bought it in very color they had.
